Save on tools this week

Florida’s Tool Time Sales Tax Holiday returns this week, beginning Saturday, Sept. 2. Floridians can save on tools and other eligible items commonly used by skilled trade workers and apprentices.

Since 2012, skilled apprenticeships across the nation have increased by 64 percent. Apprenticeships in Florida continue to expand across a diverse set of trades and industries, spanning more than 1,200 occupations.

The Tool Time Sales Tax Holiday helps support students and provides cost savings on items essential for their program. Skills training and apprenticeship programs help reduce workforce gaps and promote career development.

The Tool Time Tax-Free Holiday was established in 2022 and renewed this year.

“Florida’s robust trade industry is an essential part of our state’s workforce,” said Scott Shalley, president and CEO of the Florida Retail Federation. “Florida retailers are proud to help our skilled trade workers and industry apprentices save on the purchase of essential tools and supplies. Remember to shop local, ‘Find It In Florida’ and support your local hardware and trade stores.”

The Tool Time Sales Tax Holiday, which begins runs seven days, lasting through Friday, Sept. 8. Floridians can save on eligible items, such as power tools, work boots, toolboxes and more.
